My new sullen, grouchy super hot neighbor is my new boss.
I met him at the laundry room.
Later at the gym.
What an arrogant asshole!
The next day?
He’s interviewing me for my first job.
And guess what!
He’s hot but he glares at me in every waking moment.
Yet, he has a soft side and I can't help
but be charmed by the tenderness he hides.
I insist we don't have chemistry.
A kiss to prove it, proves totally the opposite.
Am I going to lose my V-card to him?
My nightmares are getting worse.
My mother abandoned me years ago
and I have lost my memories of that time.
Secrets from my past appear.
I have to choose.
Fight back or run for my life?
Jace will be there to protect me?

This is book #4 of the Dirty Hot Resistance series, but it can be read as a standalone.
I don’t know what I was expecting, but this wasn’t it. It was a good surprise. The suspense in this book kept me on the edge of my seat, throwing guesses everywhere.
29/35 STARS – 4 STARS (between 28 stars and 31 stars)

Would I recommend? Yes, if you enjoy hot, funny, romantic suspense.
Would I re-read this book/series? Yes!
Would I read more from the author? Yes.
Addictiveness: 4/5 The beginning was funny and then the suspense started to grow. This became a fast paced, thrilling romance. As addictive as pizza!!!
Character: hero 5/5, heroine 5/5, secondary characters 5/5, growth 5/5, real 5/5 Multidimensional characters that were easy to connect.
Halley was a good heroine. She was a bit too naive, but she was raised very protected so, it was a good justification for her. She was funny and cute.
Jace was a great hero. He was sexy, serious and a bit controlling. He was a sweet jerk, it that even exists. 🙂 I liked how he related to women in general and specially how he liked Halley as her unique self.
Secondary characters Loved them all. I’m definitely going back in the series to read their books. Love the women and the men’s friendships.
Villain/antagonists A few antagonists and a not very clear villain.
They all had layers and they were all easy to love, connect and understand!
Cover: art 4/5, title 5/5, color-font 5/5, subtitle 4/5, background 3/5 buy 4/5 I’m obsessed with book covers. I love to find snippets of the stories within the art. I always try to be true to myself, I buy so many books because of the cover and I have skipped many because of not very appealing art. Covers are part of the experience for me and I do like to understand them. This art is good, even though a bit generic. I loved the title and the subtitles. They were both very catchy for me. The guy is hot, even though I would imagine him more for a mobster than good boy Jace. I love the usage of colors here. I would probably buy this book by its cover without reading the blurb!
Freshness: 3.5/5 There was nothing out-of-this-world original here. But at the same time, there were several twists that kept the story interesting and fresh. As fresh as a cool breeze by the beach.
Plot: believable 4/5, conflict 4/5, dialogue 5/5, ending 5/5, enjoyment 5/5, opening 4/5, pace 4/5, setting 4/5, subplots 4/5, twists 5/5 Great opening with amazing ending. Believable plot, with superb dialogues and interesting pace. Ok setting, nice subplots with unexpected twists. Good level of enjoyment!
I love the dialogues and the bantering between characters. The plot twists were unexpected and they kept me guessing until the end.
Romance: 4/5 It was fun! You know, in the middle of the suspense, these two together gave me a lot of laugh out loud moments. I love their banter and their chemistry. The were totally opposites that attracted and I never doubted they liked each other. Fun romance!!!
Writing Style: 4/5 Fun characters, great plot, cute romance in a clean, cohesive writing. Great group of friends for an interesting series with room to be explored. Good writing!!!!
Because I try to be very analytical and I don’t really believe in perfection…
Plot: I figured out a bit too early who was the biggest villain in the book. I don’t know why, but for me it felt kind of obvious.
