A bad boy. A good girl. A second chance that could send them both up in flames.

Emily was a cop's daughter, and I was the boy from the wrong side of the tracks. At eighteen, our affair was wild and completely secret. Until she left town for college and a better life, and I hit the road to nowhere.

Eight years later, we're both back in town. My father is in prison; Emily is selflessly helping her sister. We should be farther apart than we've ever been. But I've never been able to resist temptation, especially when that temptation is Emily.

I shouldn't go near her. But I do.

She shouldn't say yes. But she does.

Our chemistry is hotter than ever, but she's hiding something from me. Just like I'm hiding something from her. It's hard to tell whose secrets are more dangerous, until it all goes to hell.

I can save her - and she can save me. But we'll have to break the rules.

We're from different worlds. We don't belong together.

But in the end, Emily and I are going to have to get dirty.

Riggs Brothers #1

Drive Me Wild

Contemporary Romance, Second Chance Romance

First Person, dual-POV

This is book #1 of the Riggs Brothers series.

Addictiveness: 5/5  This was an easy read with lovable characters and a plot that kept me interested until the end. As addictive as chocolate!!!

Character: hero 5/5, heroine 4.5/5, secondary characters 5/5, growth 5/5, real 5/5 Complex characters with lots of layers to them. They were easy to love and understand.

Luke was the almost-perfect hero (almost, because I don’t believe in perfection)!!! He was from the wrong side of the track with a criminal for a father, an three troublemakers brothers. He was considered trailer trash on their small town and has never really been accepted. He has always been the cool brother, the one that didn’t really try to mingle or make friends. Like all Riggs brothers he knew cars and understood how to maintain one. When a teenager, in secrecy, he dated the outgoing hot blonde, ex girlfriend of the quarterback. He knew he was never good enough for her, but he never really forgot her. On the day he comes back to town, fate also brought her back and they met on the road. This was their second chance and he was ready to become what he believed she deserved. Luke was tall, dark and dangerous. Hot as hell, loyal and really committed to make things right for him and his brothers.

Emily was a good heroine. Yes, at the beginning she was a bit annoying because of all her secrecy. I understood why she needed to keep Luke a secret while they were teens, but when they were both adults, I didn’t really see the need. At the same time, I could understand that is hard to break certain habits. Emily was a good sister and really willing to make her sister business better. Her “perfect family”was breaking down and she had no idea how she could help them. She had a good growth throughout the story and I really liked her. She and Luke were definitely couple goals.

This is a small town with several interesting characters. All brothers are mouth-watering and interesting and Emily’s twin was also very likable. I’m looking forward to their books.

Villains.. antagonists… this is a story with a few villains and antagonists and not all of them have been caught on this first book.

All characters were lovable, easy to connect and understand!!!

Cover: art 4.5/5, title 5/5, color-font 5/5, buy 5/5  I’m obsessed with book covers. I love to find snippets of the stories within the art. This one is sexy and it could really be Luke, but I still wanted something more specific to the story and a bit less generic. I really like the color and font used here, it enhanced the cover and it played well with the lights/shadows of the art. I would buy this book by its cover without needing to read the blurb!!!

Plot: believable 5/5, conflict 4/5, dialogue 5/5, ending 5/5, enjoyment 5/5, opening 5/5, pace 5/5, setting 5/5, subplots 4/5, twists 5/5  Amazing opening for an awesome ending. Believable plot, with well written dialogues in a very fast-paced plot. Good conflict, interesting subplots and fascinating twists.  High level of enjoyment!

Romance: believable 5/5, chemistry 5/5, description 5/5, development 5/5, steam 4/5  I loved it. This is a true love story. They had a summer fling in high school, but always believed they were wrong for each other. Each of them went away for ten years searching for their future and came back around the same time after finding out that there was not pot of gold at the end of the rainbow and maybe what they had was always what was meant to be. Their chemistry was undeniable, the smut was hot, with good description but always felt pertinent to the plot. They never really stoped loving each other from when they were teens and now they only learned to love the better, mature versions of themselves. Passionate love!!!

Writing Style: 4.5/5 A fast-paced addictive story with marvelous characters, tremendous plot, enchanting romance, hot smut within a clean, cohesive writing. Crafty writing!!!

Freshness: 3.5/5 I think is really hard to be very original with contemporary romance. So, the difference is always in it being well written. This one was very well written and even though it has nothing completely unique, the conflict and twists gave a fresh enough vibe. As fresh as mentos!!!

Even though I don’t think I could ever live in a small town, I love small towns for romance settings. Specially for series, it works so well. I adore the vibe of everybody knowing and supporting each other.

I love second chance romances and Luke and Emily’s was wonderful. They really went away and tried life, and they found out that they already had the best right there in Westlake.

I’m really looking forward to read the other brothers, specially Dexter and Lauren’s book. ( I mean, I think they will be a couple)

Hot romance with enchanting love story and a bit of suspense!!!

32/35 STARS –  4.5 STARS (between 31.5 stars and 33stars)

Addictiveness: 5 Character: 5 Cover: 4.5 Freshness: 3.5 Plot: 4.5 Romance: 5 Writing Style: 4.5

Action 3/5 Angst 3/5 Darkness 0/5 Humor 0/5 Romance 5/5 Suspense/Mystery 3/5

Would I recommend? Definitely! For anyone that enjoys sexy second chance romance!!!

Would I re-read this book/series? Yes, I would reread this!

Would I read more from the author? I’m really looking forward to.

You MAY read this because you like second chance romance; you SHOULD read this because you like romance with a dash of spice; you MUST read this because the hero is book-boyfriend-goals!!!

A buttoned-up counsellor. A hot ex-con with secrets. One session that changes everything.

It was supposed to be simple: Let Jace Riggs walk into my counseling office, tell me how he’s adjusting to post-prison life, and let him walk out again. But the first thing I've learned is that nothing is simple with Jace.

He’s tall, muscled, bearded and tatted. He’s smarter than anyone else in the room and ten times more guarded. He’s hiding things that would break any other man to pieces. He’s a loner, a bad boy, and an infamous Riggs brother from the wrong side of the tracks.

He’s a hundred kinds of wrong for me. And even when I’m not his counsellor anymore, I still want to break down his defenses.

Jace has never trusted anyone - until me. He says I’m the only woman he wants close to him. The only woman he’s wanted in his bed - ever. And when he looks at me with that look of white-hot fire, I believe everything he says.

My own secrets could get Jace sent back to prison - or get him killed. And he doesn’t care.

We had so little time. We might not have until morning. But with the fire ignited between Jace and me, forever wouldn’t be long enough…

Make Me Beg (Book 4)

Contemporary Romance

First Person, dual-POV

This is book #2 of the Riggs Brothers and I don’t think this series should be read as a standalone. The brothers are together rebuilding their lives but there are lots of ghosts from the past that you need to understand.

Addictiveness: 5/5  This was a fast-paced read with characters that were easy to connect. As addictive as chocolate!!!

Character: hero 5/5, heroine 5/5, secondary characters 5/5, growth 5/5, real 5/5 Multidimensional characters with depth and good backstories. They were very lovable.

Jace was the quiet, smart brother, that somehow ended up in his father’s web of lies and went to jail. He was really mysterious, but like Luke ready to rebuild his life. kept secrets even from his brother and had to learn to lean on others. Like his brother, Jace was hot and sexy and almost the perfect boyfriend. Because Luke is already my boyfriend, I have to say he is my second favorite brother lol.

Tara was a great character. I love psychoanalyses and I really connected with her. She also had skeletons in her closet, but I guess most of us do. They made a great couple.

I’m in love with these brothers and can’t wait for the next book!

Villains.. antagonists… this boys practically raised themselves, so their lack of self-esteem really feels like one of their worst enemies. They never feel like they are good enough. Also there are a couple real antagonists here, but I won’t spoil the fun.

All characters were easy to love, connect and understand!!!

Cover: art 4/5, title 5/5, color-font 5/5, buy 5/5  I’m obsessed with book covers. I love to find snippets of the stories within the art. This was a good cover, but a bit too generic for me. This could be the cover of several other books. I like the title, the font and colors used. Maybe I would buy this book by its cover without needing to read the blurb!!!

Plot: believable 4/5, conflict 5/5, dialogue 5/5, ending 5/5, enjoyment 5/5, opening 4/5, pace 5/5, setting 5/5, subplots 4/5, twists 5/5  Good opening for a great ending. Believable plot, with deep dialogues and wonderful pace. Wonderful conflict, interesting subplots and awesome twists. High level of enjoyment!

Romance: believable 5/5, chemistry 5/5, description 5/5, development 5/5, steam 4/5  Yeah, Jace was hot hot hot!!! Like Tara said in the book, their parents may have been horrible parents, but they definitely made amazing looking guys. lol Their chemistry was intense, Jace liked to drive Tara crazy, she was the one that had to go on the attack and he never felt he was good enough for her. The smut was amazing, their love story grew nicely. I love the end, that is just a happily for now, because this series is continuing and these romances are the real deal. They feel real and very believable.

Writing Style: 4.5/5  I loved the plot and how the characters were created and their personal growth. They are such complex creatures, like all of us and felt real. The author really knows how to emote to readers. Crafty writer!

Freshness: 3.5/5 Like the first book ,there is nothing completely original here. It was even expected. After reading the first book I had already guessed why Jace had been in jail and what would probably be the backstory. It doesn’t matter. This is so well written and with the added twists it feels fresh enough. As fresh as mentos!!!

Of course Ms. Kriss is leaving Dex’s book as the last one just because I’ve been dying to meet the jerk. Yes, he seemed crazy and an as..ole, but I usually love the real bad boys. lol

I’m certain Ryan, the man candy will be an amazing book also, and I can’t wait to read it.

Would I read more from the author? I’m really looking forward to.
