"Naughty folks in the suburbs get their freak on!"
"I'm searching for the neighbourhood to see if there's any houses for sale!"
"...smoking hot!"

Check out the new series from Anna Ellis!

Erotica, multiple-POV, book #1 of a series with characters from other series.

It can be read a stand-alone, but it enhances the experience to have read at least the first book from Husband and Wives series.

  • Character: hero 4/5, heroine 3/5, secondary characters 4/5, growth 3/5, real 3/5  Lorde is a good character. He is easier for me to connect and understand. Morena reminds me of Tia from Husband and Wives. She is ok, but is harder for me to understand. I like Dominic and Jacey and they are great secondary characters.
  • Cover: art 4/5, title 4/5, subtitle 4/5, color-font 5/5, buy 4/5 I like this cover. Is easy to guess this would be a hotel of sorts. It matches the book. I would be intrigue to buy it. It has a catching title.
  • Plot: believable 3/5, conflict 4/5, dialogue 4/5, ending 3/5, enjoyment 3/5, opening 4/5, pace 3/5, setting 5/5, subplots 3/5, twists 3/5  Good opening and ok ending. Interesting conflict and dialogues well written. Steady pace with enough subplots to enhance the story.
  • Romance: believable 3/5, chemistry 3/5, description 5/5, development 3/5, steam 4/5 I think this is plain erotica. I wouldn’t call it erotic romance. I find it a bit mechanic. But there are some hot scenes here.
  • Writing Style: Good plot with interesting characters. Is well written.

  • Addictiveness:  Because this is a lot out of my comfort zone, I guess I didn’t read it in one sitting. I have stopped a few times.
  • Freshness: If you have read any other book of the author, they have a pretty similar style. There is nothing new here, but is well written and good.

I have mixed feelings here.

I still don’t remember why I chose to give these a try. I read erotica, but this is very far from what I usually like. And I like some dark stuff. In fact, dark erotic is like one of my favorite genres. But this is not dark. Is just different than my usual. So, it was a process to read this. Nothing is the author’s fault, but my personal likes and dislikes.

I don’t usually read f/f, not really my cup of tea. So, I guess I skimmed through some of those scenes.

Also, I knew this was a swingers book when I started reading, and I wanted to give it a try. But I found out that I’m really cave woman style. I can comprehend them. But at the same time I understand that we are all wired differently and have different choices. I couldn’t connect with them at some levels, but like Jacey and Dominic, I was already invested a bit from the first book of Husband and Wives.

Like I said, there was a lot I like here, but a lot that I still don’t know how I feel about.

What I missed here, compared to Making Friends was the emotions. In the first book of the Husband and Wives series, we are introduce to Dominic and Jacey that are a married couple. They love each other and add things to enhance their relationship. Here, they are strangers and if felt off for me. Specially Dominic, I felt him off here. I can’t explain.

I guess I’m not sure I will continue reading this series, because at the same time. I have really liked Lorde and I’m a bit curious if he will get his happy ending.

Like I said above, the writing is good, I’m just unsure if this is my cup of tea.

Overall

  • Would I re-read this series? I’m still unsure.

You MAY read this because you follow the author; you SHOULD read this because you enjoy erotica; you MUST read this if you have read Jacey and Dominic’s story before.

Husband and Wives Series

Do you have naughty neighbours?

Happily married couple Jacey and Dominic had no idea they were moving into a neighbourhood where sharing is caring and wives swap husbands more often than a cup of sugar.

They had no idea living in the suburbs would be so exciting.

The Husbands and Wives series follows Jacey and Dominic as they learn to navigate the slippery sidewalks of swinging suburban sex-apades.

Being a good neighbour has never been so much fun!

They didn't know they were moving into a neighbourhood of swingers.

And Jacey can’t help but wonder – will Joe be there?

I have mixed feelings here. But I like the couple and would like to know more. At the same time, I’m afraid that if I keep reading the series, the things I’ve like most about them are the ones that I will start to hate.

I don’t know, I’m confused. 🙂

You spend at least eight hours a day in the office. Why not enjoy it?
Office Plays - a new erotic romance by the author of Husbands and Wives series
I love the anticipation, the slow build of excitement before I meet someone in the office. I know it’s wrong, and I would be fired if I was found out, but it makes me feel so sexy to slip away from my desk for twenty minutes; coming back with pink cheeks and a buzz still between my legs.

I spend at least eight hours a day in this place. Why not make it as enjoyable as I can?

Erotica, multiple-POV, book #1 of a series. It feels more like a serial. The end, it has no resolved feelings.

Touch Series

I lose all track of what Jane is saying as I watch him walk towards us, the warmth of my cheeks increasing with every step. My stomach clenches like a fist and I have trouble catching my breath. The flicker of recognition I have is ignored by my more visceral reactions.

“Ladies.” His voice is better than dipping your finger in warm melted chocolate and licking it off.  “Nice walk?” He blinks sleepily at us, with the most beautiful green eyes I’ve ever seen. I have green eyes the colour of moss in a damp forest; these eyes are more emerald and such a contrast with his dark bronze skin that the effect is breath-taking.

He is breath-taking.

He’s also half-asleep, still dressed in flannel pajama pants. I have a sudden, vivid image of him lounging in a huge bed, pillows strewn about, and sheets tangled around his long legs, leaning over…

Something stretches inside me, woken from a long sleep.

“It makes it all the more worthwhile when you’re here to meet us at the end,” Jane says with a perky smile. It’s not just me who has been affected; Jane is standing straighter with the hint of the belly sucked in and the size B cup boobs thrust out. This guy has some sort of power if he’s got me…

This is Iliya’s husband.

My heart sinks as fast and hard as a rock thrown in the ocean and all I can think of that line from the Alanis Morrisette song, “Meeting the man of your dreams and meeting his beautiful wife.”

A new series by the author of Husbands and Wives - A Swinging Series about Naughty Neighbours

What happens when you meet the man of your dreams…and his wife?
Kenna has spent the last two years since her divorce alone, focusing on her writing and not giving the lack of romance in her life much thought. She hasn’t missed the touch of others, until she meets Iliya.
Iliya is beautiful, vivacious and confident and Kenna is drawn to her immediately. When she meets Iliya’s husband, Kenna is torn. Iliya and Del are warm and friendly and welcome Kenna into their life, but Kenna is guilty about the feelings she develops for the couple, feelings that are more than friendship. Feeling for Del…and for Iliya.
Kenna doesn’t know what to do about the attraction she feels for Del and Iliya…until Iliya confesses she feels the same way, and so does Del.
Iliya tells Kenna they aren’t like other married couples and they want to include Kenna in their life.
Is this what Kenna wants? Can she handle the touch of others?

For mature readers, 18+ due to sexual situations

What readers are saying:
"Touch is the first book in a new series, and if the next books are as good as this one it promises to be a great series. The book cover calls this 'an unconventional love story', and with what we've seen so far I'd definitely agree with that statement! I like the author's style of writing, and I absolutely love the characters that she's created. The three main characters all have the likability factor, and I'm look forward to getting to know them further in the next book."
"Anna tells an emotional story of self awareness that brings every real emotion to the brink. From self worth and the fight to achieve one's self worth, to the joy of living life as you find happiness, friendship and love and one's own self."

Erotica, heroine-pov, book #1 of a series.

I believe each book of the serial will follow one of the three main characters, or who will become main characters.

  • Character:  heroine 4/5, secondary characters 4/5, growth 4/5, real 3/5  Kenna is a great character. Ilyia is interesting and Del is hot. I have also liked Jane. Really good characters all around.
  • Cover: art 4/5, title 4/5, subtitle 4/5, color-font 5/5, buy 4/5 Great cover. Really fitting for the story. I would buy it without reading the blurb. Is sexy without being over the top.
  • Freshness: Is different than most things that are out there.
  • Plot: believable 3/5, conflict 4/5, dialogue 4/5, ending 3/5, enjoyment 3/5, opening 4/5, pace 3/5, setting 5/5, subplots 3/5, twists 3/5  Good opening and ok ending. Good conflict and nice dialogues. An overall enjoyable plot.
  • Romance: believable 3/5, chemistry 4/5, description 5/5, development 3/5, steam 2/5 This is more like erotic romance than erotica. We can feel the emotional connection being built between the characters. Good premise of smut.
  • Writing Style: Good plot with interesting characters. Is well written.

  • Addictiveness:  Because this is a lot out of my comfort zone, I guess I didn’t read it in one sitting. I have stopped a few times.

I have mixed feelings here.

I got a bit invested in Kenna and would like to know how she moves forward. But at the same time, I don’t love f/f and I know there will be a lot of that. I usually skim through those scenes of the book, so I’m unsure how to proceed.

The writing is good, is my own likes and dislikes that are my hang-ups here.

Overall

  • Action 0/5
  • Angst 2.5/5
  • Darkness 0/5
