“Alice Gaines will tantalize your romance taste buds with a book you can’t put down until the very last page.” NYT bestselling author Jasmine Haynes

Her brother’s best friend is not only the hottest man Michelle Dennis has ever seen, he’s the one man she hopes to avoid after leaving town eight years ago. Of course he’s the one waiting at the airport. Worse, he made sure they’re staying in the same house.

Pro football player Alex Stafford is expecting to pick up his friend’s kid sister, not a full-fledged bombshell. He was planning to apologize for their past, but the feelings he had years ago come roaring back…and this time, there’s no denying them.

Keeping his hands off is a test he’s bound to fail—especially when they’re stuck in close quarters. But falling in love with Michelle, living in her world, isn’t an option for a guy like him. And remembering that will save them both a lot of heartache…

my-thoughts

Michelle and Alex used to be best friends, but now they had a history. Eight years ago, in a careless act Alex truly hurt her and she left the west coast for good. Now, after all that time she is finally back for his parents anniversary.

One way or another, she’d prove to him that she’d grown up and she didn’t need him or his approval any longer.

Now he was a famous football player and she was in her way to become a college professor. They don’t have much in common and he never felt good enough for her (one of the secrets you will learn while reading). In a “brilliant idea she decides she will have him only as a casual fling, just for one week. She goes and seduce him.

“You’ll come to the cottage tonight?”  “Try to keep me away.”

Alex doesn’t resist very long, well, they only had one week any ways.

At this point, they could make as much noise as a heavy metal band, for all he cared. Nothing in the world mattered except for her orgasm, which would trigger his.

I guess Alex lack of faith in himself, his low self-esteem will once again keep them separated. He doesn’t feel worth it, Alex is ashamed of himself and doesn’t want to share his failures. Will they finally give love a chance and take a risk or will they stay away for 8 more years?

He never admitted weakness like this. He was always the guy you could count on, as a son, a brother, a friend, or teammate.

Just One Week is a fun, sweet, steamy romance. It was a fast-paced read that left me wanting more. The plot is predictable, but really entertaining. The characters are complex, full of depth. In fact, I’ve loved them all, from the brothers to the parents, what an amazing family. I’m really looking forward to read Alex’s brother book next. The romance is cute with lots of pretty hot scenes. Yeah! HOT HOT HOT!

You MAY read this book because you enjoy sweet romance; you should read this book because you like your romance spicy; you MUST read this book if you appreciate stories with a great family backbone!!!
